Project 3, 'Back on Track' was my final collection of second year. The title ‘Back on Track’ originated from one of my collection aims. I wanted to design a collection that was environmentally conscious, beneficial for the consumers health and forward thinking.
I was interested in the idea of my collection being symbiotic. To achieve this, I wanted it to mutually benefit both the wearer and planet earth. From this initial spark I focused researching elements that could improve your mental health and well being, alongside more sustainable approaches within the fabric's construction.
I wanted to create a loungewear collection for men, which incorporated comfort and style. I took visual inspiration from sport courts and tracks and focused on the markings and geometric shapes within them.
‘Back on Track’ seemed the obvious title to me; it’s suggesting that we need to prioritise the important things in life as we go forward, and to focus on looking after yourself alongside the world we live in, as well as tying in the visual inspiration taken from sports tracks.
